Our Covenant

Love is the spirit of this church and service its law;
This is our great covenant:
To dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in freedom,
To speak the truth in love and to help one another.
What Do We Believe About God?
Unitarian Universalists have many ways of naming the sacred. Some believe in a God; some don’t. Some believe in a sacred force at work in the world and call it “love,” “mystery,” “source of all” or “spirit of life.” Some find the sacred in nature or in the simple, everyday beauty of our world. We believe that we all have agency in changing our world, one person at a time, one step at a time.
We are people of many faiths and no faith but are united in our broad and inclusive outlook and in our values, as expressed in our Seven Principles.
Our Values
- Interdependence: We honor the interdependent web of all existence and acknowledge our place in it.
- Pluralism: We are all sacred beings, diverse in culture, experience, and theology.
- Justice: We work to be diverse multicultural Beloved Communities where all feel welcome and can thrive.
- Transformation: We adapt to the changing world.
- Generosity: We cultivate a spirit of gratitude and hope.
- Equity: We declare that every person is inherently worthy and has the right to flourish with dignity, love, and compassion.
